National Blog Voter Registration Day - April 18, 2006

Why register to vote?

In 1845, one vote brought Texas into the Union. (Source: Texas State Library and Archives Commission)
In 1876, one vote gave Rutherford B. Hayes the presidency of the United States. (Source: www.historychannel.com)
In 1960, one vote per precinct elected John F. Kennedy the President of the United States. (Source: John F. Kennedy Library and Museum)

Your vote counts - but you can't vote if you're not registered!

Get out there and register.... have a say in who represents you in the next elections!

Project Vote Smart has a wealth of information related to registering to vote, information on candidates, etc. check them out

Hurray for you Don!

"Truer words were never spoke!"

There is nothing more unpatriotic than not voting... on EVERY level, I might add.

You're so much nicer than I am. I tend to just say "If you don't vote then keep your damn mouth shut" and let it go at that. Actual statistics would probably be helpful.
