Stop the world, I want to get off!

I arrived home on Saturday evening to begin preparations for the possibility of Tropical Storm Alberto visiting Tampa Bay..... as you can see from the "cone" above, there was the possibility of a direct hit if Alberto veered to the south; fortunately, it continued it's course north!

We began feeling the effects of Alberto Sunday evening which carried thru to Monday and Tuesday, with high winds and rain. With the arrival of Alberto, we were only 10 days into hurricane season. This is not a good sign.

Also on Sunday evening, we were informed of the death of my uncle, my fathers older brother whose funeral was today; Sunday is my birthday as well as father's day and with exactly three weeks remaining until we fly to Las Vegas for my nephews wedding, the world seems to be spinning out of control.

The following posts will tell you a little about my trip to New Orleans.

OMG ... I'm a selfish bitch. I'm glad you're home. Not for the PUGS. Not because there was a storm heading to Tampa. Just because I've missed you.

New Orleans sounds like it was delightful if different than it has been in the past. I'm glad. (If you're going to be away from me then you might as well be having a good time!) Pralines...Southern pralines... Put me on the care package list for next time. And I totally understand how NO is your mistress. I have places like that as well. Places I don't *ever* want to live because I need them to escape TO. The thought of having to escape *from* is just too...heartwrenching or something.

And, for the record, I'll be there waiting when you get off the plane in Boston. I'm the woman in the back, behind your other friends, with the freaky streak and the tears in her eyes.

Batten down the hatches! As a kid (kind of) I had the unfortunate experience of being caught in Hurricane David & Frederick down in the USVI and just days apart!

It was slightly more difficult than it might have been as we were living on a sailboat at the time - we headed for the mangroves and recklessly had some great hurricane parties with fellow 'boaties'....

But seriously, I hope things don't effect u too much.

Have a nice weekend matey...

When heard about the trajectory, I immediately thought about you!

Good that you dodged that bullet.
