TARPON SPRINGS - The kitten police say was tossed from a moving car onto the Yacht Club Bridge is now dubbed "Bungee" and was in strong physical condition Monday, according to personnel at AA Animal Emergency Clinic in Palm Harbor.
Tarpon Springs police said they recovered Bungee when officers responded to a report of animal cruelty in the 300 block of Spring Boulevard N just before 8 p.m. Friday.
Witnesses said they saw a passenger in an eastbound car reach into the back seat, grab the kitten's leg and throw it out the window, police said.
The man, whom witnesses identified as Eddie Ray Fisher, 40, of 606 Lime St. E was charged with one count of animal cruelty, a third-degree felony, and was booked into the Pinellas County Jail, where he was being held Monday in lieu of $2,500 bail.
The kitten was handed over to the Humane Society of Pinellas, which took him immediately to AA Animal Emergency Clinic.
"He didn't have any injuries," said Amber M. Presnell, a veterinary assistant at the clinic. "But he was pretty debilitated and in shock."
When Bungee came in, he was cold, lethargic and underweight, she said, weighing in at a mere 10 ounces.
But continuing heat treatments have helped stimulate his appetite.
"He's eating well and he's got a really good personality so he is going to stay with us for a while," Presnell said.
Bungee is expected to put on an ounce or two of bulk and get a clean bill of health within a week or two.

I can't stand it!!! Poor defenseless animals being treated this way just makes me sick and breaks my heart.
Mr. Eddie Ray Fisher should be served nothing but water & dry cat food and be required to do his "business" in a litter box for a month.... then throw that asshole out of a moving vehicle traveling a high rate of speed over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge!
Kids and animals, man. You don't screw them over. Just...wrong.
Toss him from a moving car please. Today, right now.
Thank you.

Summabitch!!! Let me have the bastard, just let me have two minutes with him!
I'm so glad the kitty survived. So, so glad. What a sweet-looking kitty, too. I hope he understands the difference between rotten humans like that one and other humans.
My Kurtney's litter was thrown out of a car; she was the only one who survived. I saw her poor tiny siblings' bodies around her, and couldn't *not* take her home. That was 12 years ago. At least this guy was caught.
Who could do something like that? Disgusting. I'd like to toss his ass out the window of a moving car, right in front of a bus!
Have a happy day!
Seems you posted this a while ago but I googled the story for a friend and your site popped up.....Bungee did great, made a full recovery and is now in a very loving home....he ended up being a she!! Thanks for getting people aware of what kind of cruelty can go on in the world against defenseless animals.
Thanks,
Amber M. Presnell
