Extending grief....

The army said Friday it would apologize to the families of about 275 officers killed or wounded in action who were mistakenly sent letters urging them to return to active duty.

The letters were sent a few days after Christmas.

"Army personnel officials are contacting those officers' families for erroneously sending the letters," the army said in a brief news release Friday night.

In the meantime, I wonder if they wished the grieving families a "Happy New Year"?

How terrible for those families. i suppose it will be blamed on a computer error or a junior ranking member of staff and nobody will really be held accountable - not that it would help or repair the damage.

Have a wonderful Sunday matey - I'm going to be helping a friend with his English (joy of joys!).
