I just love the fact that if you look at the history of marriage not only has it evolved constantly over the centuries (therefore refuting the whole rewriting thousands of years of recorded history thing) it also began as a secular ceremony so there aren't even real religious reasons that can justify it. Gah! okay I'm taking my soapbox back to my blog haha great point and great post
I don't understand the problem myself.
Two people (yes, I DO believe that it should be two PEOPLE!) who are in love and want to make a legal commitment should be able to do so. Why not?
This discussion has been brought up at work as well as with friends over dinner. We have all agreed to disagree.
Religion is the only reason given by those I know. GOD said... Well, GOD created us all if you believe, so why would he dislike one of his creations? After the god thing there's usually nothing further to back up their position.
Why on earth people are so worried about someone else's business is beyond me.
