What Makeup?

Not only does fellow blogger Brettcajun have a great sense of humor, he also has a serious side and an intense interest in politics. Brett commented on a blog entry I had written regarding Ronda Storms, the Wicked Witch of Hillsborough County with this closing statement: "hope Katherine Harris gets what's due her when she runs next".

Papers doctor her photos, Harris claims!

Florida US Rep. Katherine Harris, who is running for a U.S. Senate seat, says newspapers have doctored her photos to distort her makeup.

In an interview on a radio talk show Monday, Harris said some newspapers-she didn't say which ones-altered photos of her during the 2000 presidential election recount.
"I'm actually very sensitive about those things, and it's personally painful," Harris said. "I haven't worn blue eye shadow since girl scouts in seventh grade."

Some commentators and late-nite talk show hosts poked fun at Harris' supposed liberal use of cosmetics as she took center stage in the recount as Florida Secretary of State.
"They had trucks in Florida bringing the ballots to Tallahassee," Jay Leno quipped."....It's the same trucks they used to bring the makeup to Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris."

The St. Petersburg Times said "newspapers have fired people for making even minor changes to images, and "it would be hard-pressed for her allegations to be supported by any major American newspaper."
