My favorite Mardi Gras parade held anually in New Orleans; THE KREWE OF BARKUS is being held this year on Sunday the 19th of February.

The Krewe of Barkus is the dog parade...... held in the French Quarter with approximately fifteen hundred dogs and their owners, in costume.

Like all two legged parades, the Krewe of Barkus has a king, a queen, and the royal court followed by the the loyal subjects..... people love it!

Each year, the parade has a theme. This years theme is appropriately named:

The Wizard of Paws "There's no place like home"

This would be fun..and if I were better organized (and if my computer hadn't decided to go bust) I would have considered zipping over to N.O. and checking things out.

Alas, I'm stuck. And it is cold here. Cold and rainy. Thanks for cheering me up!
